On January 27th 1945 Auschwitz was liberated. On January 27th 2022 Arolsen Archives takes the opportunity to call for respect, diversity and democracy with their project #everynamecounts, kindly supported by Wall GmbH.
#everynamecounts is a growing digital memorial for the victims of the Nazi regime, that enables everyone to easily access information about the victims' lifes and even to be part of the process to digitalize their memory.
With the campaign displayed everywhere in Germany and on the internet right now, Arolsen Archives also aim to shed light on the fact that persection and marginalilization are not just a topic of the past but very much so of the present, too.
The faces I photographed for the project belong to people who would have been persecuted in the Nazi regime or are being persecuted today in many parts of the world. They stand for the vast number of people experiencing discrimination, racism, antisemitism and violence every day.
Be part of the building of the digital memorial and act up for democracy, respect and diversity!
